Creating tech start-up rockstars with GetJar

When we first started working with GetJar back in 2009, they were a small start-up run by incredibly ambitious senior executives working out of their kitchens.

Since then, we’ve worked to make them the ‘rock stars’ of the tech start-up scene and they’re often cited as one of Europe’s most successful start-ups. To hear more about how GetJar became superstars, read on.

Google+ = The End of Facebook? Komodo PR digs deeper

Posted by Caryn August 9 2011 08:35am

With social networking accounting for a quarter of all time spent online, and at least 70% of Brits regularly using social network sites, everyone now seems to be talking about Google+. But what is it? Well, it is a new social networking platform deemed to take over Facebook (and possibly Twitter and Linkedin). Google describe its new development as “an amalgamation of several services we already use, only better”.

The death of Facebook?

Currently 750 million people belong to Facebook, but can Google+ exceed this amount? Google+ already boasts an impressive 20 million users after launching only in June.

It is no secret that Facebook struggled to prevent users from becoming confused with privacy settings, but it seems that Google+ has fully grasped this concept and the flaws in Facebook are becoming more evident in comparison.

Products from Binatone’s Press Day

we invited influential journalists and bloggers from the likes of The Sunday Times and the Daily Express right through to Stuff and Chat magazine to come along, meet the Binatone and Motorola experts and give them an exclusive opportunity to play around with the newest phone, tablet, digital picture frame and baby monitor technology.

I joined the Komodo team yesterday and got to help them run this event for Binatone and Motorola. Here are a few tips I picked up whilst spending the day with the lovely Komodo ladies and whilst watching them in action! (more…)

Launching Tesco’s new Holiday Calling Card with a radio day

Posted by Jayne July 25 2011 10:26am

As a communications consultancy, we like to utilise every available channel for reaching different audiences – including radio days. This is where we basically hijack a radio studio for a morning, book in back to back interviews with various target radio stations and then let our client talk to their heart’s content about their new product, service or research etc.

But of course, you can’t just go in there and be ‘sell, sell, sell’ – listeners aren’t daft and neither are the radio presenters who can smell an advert a mile away.

No, you need to offer the radio stations something that’s relevant, so we presented the results of some research from Tesco about the costs of holidays.
