Sustainability

The Brundtland Commission definition of sustainable development has become one of the most used and the one Reptile Group (Chameleon PR & Komodo) aligns with. The definition states development that

“meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

The Reptile Group is doing a number of things to make the group an environmentally sustainable business, and make sustainable choices in our business.

Our ‘Green’ scene:

The Reptile Group believe that businesses should practice putting back what they’ve taken out. Below is our shining new certificate from the World Land Trust for the emissions we have offset.

We are pleased to report that we have recycled over 60% of our waste so far this year; this is in line with our targets to increase our recycled waste by 5% in 2010.

The Reptile Group is very proud of this sliding scale regarding paper consumption.

Below is a comparison of the same period from 2008 to date:

Paper used 2008 2009 2010
Sheets of plain A4 52500 32500 22500

The Reptile Groups targets are reviewed periodically and we working hard to continue our success toward reaching the following targets;

2010 target 2011 target
Electricity consumption Reduce by a further 5% Reduce by a further 5%
General waste Reduce by a further 20% Reduce by a further 20%
Recycled waste Reduce by a further 5% Reduce by a further 5%
Paper consumption Reduce by a further 10% Reduce by a further 15%
